Developing a Web-Based Toolkit Library

  • Type:
    Action Item
  • Status: Ongoing
  • Category: Research Initiative
  • Lead Organisation: PICU-CONNECT

Why This Matters

The vision of PICU-CONNECT is to improve the care and outcomes of critically ill children worldwide through high-quality research, trials, and partnerships and the mission is to promote international collaboration and cooperation between existing national/regional research networks focused on pediatric critical care. To achieve this vision and mission, PICU-CONNECT has outlined a road map for global paediatric critical care research. One of the action items included in this road map is the development of a web-based toolkit library for sharing across international boundaries.

Our Goals

Our main goal is to develop a web-based toolkit library for sharing across international boundaries. We also aim to: (1) identify the currently available research resources amongst existing PICU research networks, and (2) determine gaps in the existing resources to help determine the needs for future global PICU research collaborations.

How We’re Doing It

This is a two-phase project:

Survey

We will identify the currently available research resources amongst existing PICU research networks and the ability of these networks to share these resources.

Tool-kit Development

We will collate existing network resources that can be shared into a web-based toolkit.

Impact

A web-based toolkit will:

  • Promote sharing of resources between existing networks.
  • Reduce duplication of efforts.
  • Identify gaps in the existing resources.
